Haddenham Museum TrustThe museum is run by the 10 Trustees of the Haddenham Museum Trust together with a team of Stewards - a registered charity (No. 1071828) - with everyone involved being a volunteer. The Trust has an elected committee with all members over 18 (£5 / year) being able to vote and with under 18's (£1 / year) being non-voting associate members. The museum was opened to the public on 1st November 1998, after an inaugural public meeting in June 1998, and following an offer by the Methodist Church to lease the Old Schoolroom to us. However, the idea of a museum goes back much further and a significant milestone was an exhibition in November 1988. On this occasion Haddenham Village Hall was completely filled with historic articles of every description provided on loan by members of the community. The event is recorded in one of the photograph albums in the museum. The popularity of the exhibition was proof that the idea of a village museum would find favour in the future. Now the museum has become a reality but it still needs support and you can help. Making a visit helps, putting money in the collection box is useful, giving historical information to a steward is always appreciated, and making a gift or loan of an article which helps to explain the history of Haddenham is very valuable. But please also consider joining the Trust. Membership forms are available in the museum. Please let us know if you would like to become a Steward or can assist in some way. The Trust's aim is that the museum should become a centre of information for the benefit of the whole community. The Trust is a Registered Charity (No. 1071828) and has been formed to preserve artefacts and records relating to the history of the village of Haddenham in Buckinghamshire. The success of the Trust depends on support from the village.
